Your body doesn’t feel like yours anymore.
It doesn’t respond the way it used to. You’ve rested, paced, done the protocols, and something still isn’t reaching whatever changed. The exhaustion doesn’t lift the way it should. The crashes come without warning. The person you were before this feels like someone you used to know.
That gap—between how hard you’re working at your recovery and how little is shiftin —is the most demoralizing part. Not the symptoms themselves, but the feeling that nothing you do is getting through.
Here’s what I’ve learned after 14 years working with people in exactly that place: the gap isn’t because you’re not trying hard enough. It’s because the approaches you’ve been given are working on the surface of a problem that lives much deeper.
That’s what I teach people how to reach.
I’m Kari Mitchell.
I spent ten years with chronic Lyme disease; my thirties, mostly. The worst of it I call the Zombie Years: 2008 to 2011, three years of staring at walls while my life happened without me in it. Practitioners did their best. My body didn’t respond the way it was supposed to.
January 19, 2012 is the date everything changed. Not because I found a new supplement or a better diagnosis. Because I learned something none of my practitioners had taught me: how to communicate with my own body’s healing intelligence; not just receive its signals, but send something back in.
Within six months, I had my life back.
The fourteen years since have been devoted to understanding exactly how that works, and teaching it to people who are where I was.
What I do is unusual.
I’m an energy healer, which means I work with the signals your body is running underneath the chemistry, underneath the symptoms, underneath everything that’s visible on a lab panel. I see energy. I work with it directly. That part is real, and I don’t hide it.
I’m also rigorously grounded. My work is informed by autonomic nervous system science; specifically how the sympathetic nervous system gets locked in threat response, and what it takes to shift it: post-viral recovery research, and somatic trauma frameworks. I speak both languages—the science and the energy—because your body does too.
One of the things that changed everything for me, and for the people I work with, is understanding that your genes are not a life sentence. What got activated by the viral event, the trauma, the years of chronic stress—that expression is fluid. It can change. And it’s influenced not just by what’s happening in your body now, but by what your nervous system learned to expect, sometimes long before you were born. That’s the territory we work in.
Most practitioners can do one or the other—the science or the energy. I’ve spent 14 years learning to do both, because I believe you deserve the full picture of what’s actually happening, and the full range of tools to address it.
What you’ll find here:
Every week I share what I actually know: the science behind why you feel the way you do, translated into plain language, alongside the energy practices that create change the science alone can’t reach.
This isn’t symptom management. It’s not pacing yourself into a smaller life. It’s understanding the root of what’s keeping your body stuck, and learning to work with your own healing intelligence to address it.
Some of what I share will feel familiar. Some of it will stretch you. All of it is in service of one thing: you becoming the person who heals yourself, rather than the person waiting to be healed.
This work is for you if:
You’ve done everything right and your body still isn’t responding. You feel like a stranger in your own body, like something fundamental changed and nothing has been able to reach it. You have a sense (even a faint one) that there’s something more going on than what conventional medicine can see. You’re ready to stop managing and start understanding.
It might not be for you if you’re looking for a practitioner to fix you. I don’t do that, not because I can’t help, but because that model doesn’t work for what you’re dealing with. The healing has to come from inside. My job is to teach you how.
Three ways to work with me:
The weekly newsletter is free, and it’s real work, not teasers for paid content, but actual tools and understanding you can use.
Paid subscribers get deeper dives, complete self-practice protocols, and direct access to me.
When I have availability, I work with people one-on-one, for those who need more support than self-practice can provide right now.
All three paths lead to the same place: you sovereign in your own healing.
I read every reply and comment. This is a real conversation, not a broadcast. Say hello — I mean it.
This newsletter provides educational information about nervous system support and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Individual results vary. Always consult a healthcare provider before making health decisions.
